What we discovered?We asked 5 questions. Compare the averages with how you would respond:
- The most common frequency of chocolate cravings is "every 2-3 days" (20%), then "once a day" (18%) and "once a week" (15%).
- 30% get chocolate cravings at least once a day.
- Less than 2% never get chocolate cravings.
- The three most common triggers for a chocolate craving are "feeling down or depressed" (36%), "feeling bored" (36%) and "it's completely random" (21%).
- Almost half (45%) deal with a craving by "just eating it". Eleven percent eat something not as 'bad' as chocolate and only 7% wait to see if the craving goes away.
- Out of 5 chocolate cravings, the most common number of times chocolate is eaten is twice (25%), 3 OUT OF 5 (23%) and 4 out of 5 times (20%).
- A bar or block of straight milk chocolate is the most common method to satisfy a craving (35%).
- Cravings are satisfied by a 'bite' 38% of the time, a 'bar' 40% of the time, a king-sized bar 12 % of the time and a 200g block 9% of the time. No-one reported eating more than a block to satisfy a craving!
